localStorage for two small preferences that never leave your device. Google AdSense (our ad partner) may set its own cookies for ad personalisation — you can opt out below.
No. Unit Converter does not set any of its own HTTP cookies — not for preferences, not for analytics, and not for advertising. However, Google AdSense (our advertising partner) may set third-party cookies on our pages. See Section 4 for details.
localStorage is a browser feature that stores small key-value pairs locally on your device. Unlike cookies, localStorage data is never automatically sent to any server. We use it only to remember two preferences between visits:
| Key | What it stores | Example value | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|
darkMode |
Your light/dark mode preference | "true" or "false" |
Until you clear browser storage |
recentCats |
The last 6 converter categories you visited | ["length","mass","speed",…] |
Until you clear browser storage |
Neither of these values is personal data, and neither is ever transmitted off your device.
You can remove these preferences at any time. The app will simply revert to defaults (system-theme, no recent history).
We display advertisements through Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. These cookies are set by Google, not by us. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info. For more information see the Google Privacy Policy.
Because we collect no tracking data at all, your browser's "Do Not Track" signal has no practical effect — we wouldn't track you regardless.
If our storage practices ever change, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above.
