Unit Converter is a free educational tool that converts between measurement units entirely within your browser. We have no servers that process your data and no user accounts.
We collect no personal data ourselves. Specifically:
The app stores two small preferences in your browser's localStorage — a browser feature that never leaves your device:
darkMode — whether you have enabled dark or light mode (true / false).
recentCats — a short list of the last 6 converter categories you visited, so we can show them in the "Recent" row for convenience.
These values stay on your device, are never transmitted to us or anyone else, and you can clear them at any time through your browser settings.
We do not set any of our own cookies. The preferences described above use localStorage, not cookies. However, Google AdSense (see Section 5) may set cookies to serve personalised advertisements.
We use Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google AdSense may use cookies and web beacons to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info.

Other than Google AdSense (described above), we do not integrate any third-party scripts, analytics, CDNs, or social buttons. All unit conversion logic runs locally in your browser.
Our tool is suitable for all ages. Because we collect no personal data, there are no special considerations regarding children's privacy.
If we ever change this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Because we collect no data, any changes would only relate to clarifications rather than new data practices.
